The Power of Saving Money

No, the article is not about “penny pinching”.

There is power in saving one’s money. Having money saved gives one peace of mind. Having money saved helps one make better decisions because it’s more difficult to make wise moves when one is more desperate. When one has money saved, one can afford to take losses. When one has money saved, one can try different ventures and investments that would be impossible without the advantage of money in the bank. Having savings allows one to capitalize on opportunities when presented. Let me reiterate this, as this is essential.

“Opportunities come into our lives when we put in the work and do effective things that get us closer to our goals.“

There is no way to measure opportunity. When it comes and it will come, being ready is absolutely critical — SOME OPPORTUNITIES ARE LIFE CHANGING.

These opportunities are what we desire, visualize, have faith in, work towards, and pray for. We must be prepared.

The future, regarding one’s personal and business life, is unpredictable. Emergencies happen. Tragedies happen. Life happens. None of our blessings are guaranteed. Yet we are much more prepared with money saved.

Having money saved has also saved me invaluable time. Instead of having all my money tied up in investments and my business, I was able to capitalize on a perfect opportunity that was outside of my preferred realm of business.

Inversely, there was a time where 90% of my cash was inaccessible when I needed it. I couldn’t go through with a great opportunity since it takes time to move and transfer one’s money. I didn’t have enough savings and I missed out on the incredible opportunity.

There have been several instances in my business career where I had to pivot and try something different as a means to diversify.

This was solely possible thanks to my savings. Knowing I had money saved, I had more internal peace and this level of comfort allowed me to be more adventurous. In trying the new, I made new money — with the wonderful feeling of peace of mind.
